Leadership Oakland Supports Mentoring!
Mentoring is a wonderful way to give back to your community while making a significant, positive impact on the life of a child or young adult. There are many ways you, as a leader in Oakland County, can get involved as a mentor with a program that serves youth in your community.
Do you realize how easy it is to become a mentor? All you need is an interest in volunteering with children/youth, a little time, and know how to have fun. Our programs are looking for people who can be patient, caring and accepting of a child’s interests. For many programs, mentors spend just four hours per month visiting at school, talking about career paths, or just going out for an ice cream. We are looking for responsible adults to volunteer as role models and friends. That is all it takes.
